Week 11 Fantasy Football Lineup Advice: Ace your start ‘em, sit ‘em decisions on Elijah Mitchell, Van Jefferson, & more with RotoBaller’s “Who to Start?” tool image

At the beginning of the season, a four-team bye consisting of the Dolphins, Jaguars, Buccaneers, and Seahawks probably didn't seem that bad, but now that it's here, fantasy football owners are feeling the crunch. No fewer than a dozen "must-starts" are unavailable, and when you factor in mounting injuries, start 'em, sit 'em decisions are only getting tougher. Fortunately, the experts at RotoBaller are allowing Sporting News Fantasy readers free access to their exclusive “Who to Start?” advice tool to help with your tough Week 11 fantasy lineup decisions.

How does the “Who to Start?” tool work? Simple: Choose up to four players to compare below, pick your league settings in the upper right corner (PPR, half-PPR, standard), and push “Who to Start?” It’s that easy. From there, you’ll get a lineup recommendation based on RotoBaller’s award-winning rankings and projections.

Losing players from the Dolphins, Jaguars, Buccaneers, and Seahawks hurts on a lot of levels. About the only offensive position that's spared from complete carnage is tight end. With massive holes to fill in passing attacks and running games, more than a few owners will have to resort to low-ceiling "safe" plays or complete boom-or-bust options. Knowing which type of player is best for you might come down to whether you're projected to win big or lose big.

As always, RotoBaller factored in usage, matchups, and talent into its Week 11 rankings, and it’s reflected in its “Who to Start?” tool. Check out an example from each offensive position.

Advice below is based on full-point PPR leagues

Start or Sit?: Week 11 fantasy QB lineup advice from RotoBaller

Daniel Jones (vs. Lions) vs. Kyler Murray (vs. 49ers) vs. Kirk Cousins (vs. Cowboys) vs. Jimmy Garoppolo (vs. Cardinals)

Rotoballer has Murray ranked first among these signal-callers, but a hamstring injury could keep him out for a second-straight week. If he is out, RotoBaller likes Cousins the most, ranking him one spot ahead of Jones and two spots ahead of Garoppolo. Cousins has the toughest matchup of that group, but he also has a solid supporting cast and is sure to air it out a lot. Jones has a solid floor but low ceiling, even against Detroit, and Garoppolo is another solid-floor, low-ceiling QB.

Start or Sit?: Week 11 fantasy RB lineup advice from RotoBaller

Tyler Allgeier (vs. Bears) vs. Elijah Mitchell (vs. Cardinals) vs. Latavius Murray (vs. Raiders) vs. Damien Harris (vs. Jets)

All of these "handcuffs" have unpredictable usage, but 10-plus touches is always in the cards. RotoBaller ranks Murray one spot ahead of Mitchell, who might actually be the best bet for carries. Allgeier is four spots behind Mitchell, while Harris is another four spots behind Allgeier. Matchup-wise, Allgeier is in the best spot, but he's competing with Cordarrelle Patterson and Caleb Huntley for touches. Harris might be nothing more than a goal-line back at this point, so he's especially tough to trust in PPR leagues. Murray and Mitchell will get their carries, but it's unclear if Mitchell will be as heavily used as last week if the 49ers are trailing. Murray is a "safe" bet in a favorable matchup, and he should get most of the goal-line carries for his team.

Start or Sit?: Week 11 fantasy WR lineup advice from RotoBaller

Chase Claypool (@ Falcons) vs. Wan'Dale Robinson (vs. Lions) vs. Parris Campbell (vs. Eagles) vs. Van Jefferson (@ Saints)

Despite a highly favorable matchup, Claypool is a distant fourth on this list. Clearly, RotoBaller hasn't been impressed by Claypool's role in the Bears' offense. Robinson also has a great matchup, but inconsistency has him five spots behind Campbell. Jefferson, who figures to see a bump in targets with Cooper Kupp (ankle) out, is two spots behind Robinson. All of these receivers could pop for a big play or score, but RotoBaller is playing it safe with Campbell ranked the highest. He's the best bet for targets now that Matt Ryan is back under center, so even in a tough matchup, he has a decent floor.

Start or Sit?: Week 11 fantasy TE lineup advice from RotoBaller

Tyler Conklin (@ Patriots) vs. Foster Moreau (@ Broncos) vs. Trey McBride (vs. 49ers) vs. Kyle Pitts (vs. Bears)

Conklin has the best matchup, but he's still fourth on this list. It's a bit surprising that RotoBaller is so excited about McBride in his first start in a tough matchup, but they have him second among this group, behind only the disappointing Pitts. Pitts still has the most upside thanks to his frequent targets and superior athleticism, but you can make a case that Moreau has the highest floor in a decent matchup. Either way, most of these TEs are touchdown-or-bust, so you might as well flip a coin.
