Week 10 Fantasy Rankings: Running back image

Each week, there's a sizable amount of RBs in the RB2/RB3 range that will consist of players who ride the bench for the most of the season. In our Week 10 fantasy RB rankings, those guys don't appear like they did in previous weeks.  Although there's a few, it's hard to find that bench player in a good matchup that fantasy owners will feel confident about starting.

DeMarco Murray continues a downward trend and Derrick Henry goes upward, but they run into a tough Bengals run-defense. Matt Forte (@ Bucs), and Orleans Darkwa and Wayne Gallman (@ 49ers) have solid matchups fantasy owners should feel good about, but they're not always the most dependable players. Usual RB2 starters like Chris Thompson (vs. Vikings) and Frank Gore and Marlon Mack (vs. Steelers) run into some tough run defenses this week, causing fantasy owners to choose between sticking with their old reliables or maybe looking elsewhere.

In Week 10, Le'Veon Bell, Jordan Howard and Melvin Gordon return, and Kareem Hunt, Marshawn Lynch and Jay Ajayi (for the second time this year), leave on bye. Ravens RBs Buck Allen and Alex Collins also have a bye. Ezekiel Elliott, like usual, hangs in the balance between returning or leaving the rankings (UPDATE: He's suspended). Luckily this week, there aren't too many injuries to worry about, other than Eddie Lacy, whose injury mostly affects Thomas Rawls.

Week 10 Fantasy Football Rankings: RBs

These rankings are for standard, non-PPR leagues

Le'Veon Bell, Steelers @ Colts.
Ezekiel Elliott, Cowboys @ Falcons.
Leonard Fournette, Jaguars vs. Steelers.
Todd Gurley, Rams vs. Texans.
LeSean McCoy, Bills vs. Saints.
Melvin Gordon, Chargers @ Jaguars.
Jordan Howard, Bears vs. Packers.
Mark Ingram, Saints @ Bills. Ingram bounced back from his two fumbles in Week 8 to rush for 75 yards, making it the fourth straight game of reaching 70-plus rushing yards. Alvin Kamara stole all the TDs, but the Saints will continue to give the ball to Ingram, despite facing a Bills rush defense ranked in the top 10.
Devonta Freeman, Falcons vs. Cowboys.  After five TDs in the first four games, Freeman is scoreless in his past four and has failed to score double-digit points. Returning home from a three-game road swing should reset Freeman and the rest of the struggling Falcons offense.
Joe Mixon, Bengals @ Titans.
Lamar Miller, Texans @ Rams.
Carlos Hyde, 49ers vs. Giants.
Christian McCaffrey, Panthers vs. Dolphins. With Kelvin Benjamin out of the picture, McCaffrey scored a receiving and rushing touchdown and was much more involved in the Panthers offense than he had been all season. Expect more of the same this week, despite playing against a stronger run  defense.
Alvin Kamara, Saints @ Bills.
Orleans Darkwa, Giants @ 49ers. Darkwa is averaging a solid 73 rushing yards per game, including a 117-yard performance against the Broncos, the best run defense in the NFL. The 49ers have allowed at least one RB to score double-digit points every week this season, and Darkwa should continue that trend.
Adrian Peterson, Cardinals vs. Seahawks.
Bilal Powell, Jets @ Bucs. The numbers might show that Matt Forte is taking over, but Powell did well, too, last Thursday night, rushing for 74 yards on nine carries. Forte picked up the two touchdowns, but Powell is still their early-down rusher for the most part, which is helpful against a team ranked 11th in FPPG allowed to RBs.
Doug Martin, Bucs vs. Jets.
Aaron Jones, Packers @ Bears. Jones and Ty Montgomery were close in touches (7-6) and snaps (20-24) on Monday night, but rushing-wise, Montgomery came out on top 33 to 12. Much of that was likely to due to game flow, as the Packers were behind most of the time vs. the Lions, forcing rookie QB Bretty Hundley to throw more with Montgomery in the ga me. That won't be the case against the Bears, giving more chances for Jones to make an impact.
DeMarco Murray, Titans vs. Bengals.
Dion Lewis, Patriots @ Broncos. The Patriots have had two weeks to prepare for this Broncos defense, and the Broncos were recently decimated by RBs, giving up over 120 rushing yards, the second time in four weeks, and four TDs. Lewis is still in a committee of sorts, although he's the lead man, and the Broncos should be better at home, putting Lewis in a low RB2 range.
Ameer Abdullah, Lions vs. Browns.
Derrick Henry, Titans vs. Bengals.
C.J. Anderson, Broncos vs. Patriots. Denver's poor QB play isn't helping Anderson, and Jamaal Charles and Devontae Booker mixing in doesn't either. The Patriots continue to struggle against RBs (fifth worst in fantasy) and being at home after a three-game road swing should help Anderson bounce back.
Isaiah Crowell, Browns @ Lions.
Alfred Morris, Cowboys @ Falcons
Jerick McKinnon, Vikings @ Redskins.
Frank Gore, Colts vs. Steelers.
Tevin Coleman, Falcons vs. Cowboys.
Thomas Rawls, Seahawks @ Cardinals
Tarik Cohen, Bears vs. Packers.
Wayne Gallman, Giants @ 49ers.  Despite being behind Darkwa, Gallman still gets enough snaps and playing time to warrant a roster spot, and Gallman is worth a flex play this week against the worst team at stopping RBs in fantasy.  Five secondary backs have scored six-plus points this season against the 49ers, so Gallman has a relatively high ceiling this week.
Latavius Murray, Vikings @ Redskins
James White, Patriots @ Broncos
Chris Thompson, Redskins vs. Vikings.  Thompson has been dropping each week in fantasy points since Week 6, producing seven and three points, respectivley, in the last two weeks.  The Vikings average the second-fewest FPPG (12.5) allowed to RBs this season, and Rob Kelley took two goal-line carries last week, making TDs tough to find for Thompson.
Kenyan Drake, Dolphins @ Panthers.  Drake had a solid game after fumbling the ball early, popping off a 42-yard run to complete a 69-yard day on nine carries.  He's still very much in a committee with Damien Williams, but he appears to be slightly ahead. In any matter, he faces a tough test, since the Panthers average the third-fewest 13.1 FPPG to RBs.
Ty Montgomery, Packers @ Bears.  Montgomery falls just outside the RB3 range into possible tough flex play this week. Including the information from Aaron Jones' writeup, Mongtomery is still behind Jones.  He has more value as a PPR play, since he caught one pass for 18 yards. The Bears are a relatively tough draw, making Montgomery a tough play.
Damien Williams, Dolphins @ Panthers.
Elijah McGuire, Jets @ Bucs
Rob Kelley, Redskins vs. Vikings.
Marlon Mack, Colts vs. Steelers.  Mack still plays second-fiddle to Frank Gore, and that won't help against a Steelers team that has done very well at stopping second-fiddle RBs.
Duke Johnson Jr., Browns @ Lions
Jonathan Stewart, Panthers vs. Dolphins
Theo Riddick, Lions vs. Browns
Mike Gillislee, Patriots @ Broncos
Andre Ellington, Cardinals vs. Seahawks
Matt Breida, 49ers vs. Giants
Giovani Bernard, Bengals @ Titans
Chris Ivory, Jaguars vs. Chargers
Devontae Booker, Broncos vs. Patriots
Shane Vereen, Giants @ 49ers
Jamaal Charles, Broncos vs. Patriots
J.D. McKissic, Seahawks @ Cardinals
Jacquizz Rodgers, Bucs vs. Jets
Rod Smith, Cowboys @ Falcons
Dwayne Washington, Lions vs. Browns
Mike Tolbert, Bills vs. Saints
T.J. Yeldon, Jaguars vs. Chargers
Darren McFadden, Cowboys @ Falcons
