Today's MLB DFS Playbook: Lineup picks, tips for Tuesday
SP Jesus Luzardo, Marlins (@ Diamondbacks). Luzardo has made five starts this season and has scored at least 19.9 DK points in all but one of them. He has a 3.08 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, and has struck out 35 batters across 26.1 innings of work. The D-backs offense is really bad and currently ranks 26th in runs per game this season while having the fourth-highest strikeout rate in the league.
SP Carlos Carrasco, Mets (@ Nationals). Carrasco had a start in which he was pummeled for eight runs, but outside of that game he has been fantastic, averaging 24.9 DK points in his other four outings. He has already pitched in the eighth inning twice this season. I don’t mind this matchup with the Nationals at all.
C Jorge Alfaro, Padres (vs. Cubs). Alfaro was much stronger against lefties last season, slashing .259/.276/.459 against them compared to .238/.286/.295 against righties, and we are seeing similar splits this season thus far.
1B Pete Alonso, Mets (@ Nationals). Alonso is having a good year thus far, hitting .274 with seven home runs and 26 RBIs. He has dominated this head-to-head matchup, going 11-for-32 (.344) with four bombs against Patrick Corbin in his career.
2B Marcus Semien, Rangers (vs. Royals). Semien has been really bad this season, no denying that, but he is better than he's shown and his cheap price is nice. He has won this matchup in a small sample of at-bats, going 3-for-6 (.500) with a home run against Brad Keller.
3B Bobby Witt Jr., Royals (@ Rangers). Witt Jr. has at least one hit in 14 of his past 15 games, hitting .298 in that span with a home run, four steals, and six runs scored. His power/speed combo is too good to pass up at this price against Martin Perez.
SS Andres Gimenez, Guardians (@ White Sox). Gimenez, like teammate Josh Naylor, is far too cheap for how he is producing this season. He is hitting .351 with three home runs, two steals, and 17 RBIs thus far.
OF Austin Hays, Orioles (@ Cardinals). Hays shouldn’t be this cheap at all. He is slashing a ridiculous .400/.469/.655 over his past 15 games with three home runs, nine RBIs, and nine runs scored.
MORE PICKS: SP Kyle Wright, Braves (vs. Red Sox); C Mike Zunino, Rays (@ Angels); 1B Jesus Aguilar, Marlins (@ Diamondbacks); 2B Ketel Marte, Diamondbacks (vs. Marlins); 3B Eduardo Escobar, Mets (@ Nationals); SS Corey Seager, Rangers (vs. Royals); OF Juan Yepez, Cardinals (vs. Orioles)
