Giovani Bernard is a classic waiver-wire target when he gets the Bengals' starting job, and that could happen in Week 2 if Joe Mixon misses time with an ankle injury. Matt Breida should slide into a bigger role in San Francisco, too, after Tevin Coleman exited Sunday with an ankle injury. And in Jacksonville, the Gardner Minshew era is now underway with Nick Foles breaking his collarbone on his first Jaguars' touchdown pass. Ahead of the waiver wire or FAAB period in your league for Week 2, be sure to catch up on all this injury news to best set your fantasy football lineups going forward.

Joe Mixon injury update
Mixon left Cincinnati's game early in the second half after rolling his ankle and didn't return. He'd totaled just 10 yards on six carries up to the point behind a porous Bengals' offensive line. Giovani Bernard received all the backfield touches for the rest of the game.
There hasn't been further information released about Mixon's injury yet, so for now, Bernard becomes a top waiver-wire target. In Weeks 3 and 4 last season, with Mixon out and Bernard starting, Bernard ran for 130 yards across and caught nine passes for 52 yards. He would be in the RB2 discussion against the 49ers in Week 2 if Mixon is out.

How long is Tevin Coleman out?
Coleman left Sunday's game in the first half because of an ankle injury and didn't return. After the game, Coleman exited the locker room in a walking boot, and Kyle Shanahan told reporters that he's "concerned." Coleman will get an MRI on Monday.
This news would make it likely that Matt Breida to the top back in San Francisco, but Raheem Mostert would also have fantasy relevance after getting touches both before and after Coleman left Sunday's game. Breida isn't without injury risk himself, but if he's somehow not rostered in your league, change that. Mostert is a solid flier as a free agent or even a waiver add if you're already using a claim on someone else.
Nick Foles injured; who is Gardner Minshew?
Sunday was the day for collarbone injuries, as on Foles' first Jaguars' touchdown he landed hard and broke his left clavicle (collarbone). That meant Gardner Minshew, the rookie from Washington State, was the first QB from his class to make his NFL debut. Sporting News has more to know about Minshew here.
Foles will miss the majority of the season after undergoing surgery. That means Minshew is the most likely short-term starter, and he went 22-of-25 for 275 yards and two touchdowns Sunday in relief. With DJ Chark and Chris Conley both popular waiver-wire targets, Minshew's promising performance shows the Jags' offense might not be totally crushed with Foles out. Minshew isn't likely to have much value in single-QB leagues, but he looked good enough to merit consideration in two-QB and Superflex formats.
