How does the “Who to Start?” tool work? Despite just two byes on the schedule, we're missing some valuable contributors at QB, RB, and TE. However, perhaps the worst part of the Commanders and Cardinals being off this week is we don't get to take advantage of their porous defenses and turnover-prone offenses. There are still plenty of exploitable matchups on the schedule, but losing these two teams matters more than we thought it would at the beginning of the season.

As always, RotoBaller factored in usage, matchups, and talent into its Week 14 rankings, and it’s reflected in its “Who to Start?” tool. Check out an example from each offensive position.

Advice below is based on full-point PPR leagues

Start or Sit?: Week 14 fantasy QB lineup advice from RotoBaller

Justin Herbert (vs. DEN) vs. Jared Goff (@ CHI) vs. Russell Wilson (@ LAC) vs. Jordan Love (@ NYG)

Herbert is the biggest name, but RotoBaller ranks Love the highest this week, two spots above Herbert. Wilson is one spot behind him, and Goff is just one spot behind Wilson, so this is a tightly bunched group, but Love is the "hottest hand" in a favorable matchup. There's no reason to turn away from him now.

Start or Sit?: Week 14 fantasy RB lineup advice from RotoBaller

Keaton Mitchell (vs. LAR) vs. Dameon Pierce (@ NYJ) vs. Chuba Hubbard (@ NO) vs. James Cook (@ KC)

Pierce got going last week and has a favorable matchup, but he's ranked fourth among this group, likely because RotoBaller is still concerned about Devin Singletary stealing touches. Mitchell leads the way, one spot ahead of Cook and several spots ahead of Hubbard. All are somewhat boom-or-bust, but Mitchell, who's been getting more touches over the past few games, has the most upside if he booms.

WEEK 14 PPR RANKINGS:
QBs | RBs | WRs | TEs | D/STs | Kickers

Start or Sit?: Week 14 fantasy WR lineup advice from RotoBaller

Tyler Lockett (@ SF) vs. Rashee Rice (vs. BUF) vs. Adam Thielen (@ NO) vs. Elijah Moore (vs. JAX)

Rice has become Patrick Mahomes' go-to wide receiver, and that's likely why RotoBaller ranks him first among this quartet. Moore is several spots behind him despite the QB worries, and Lockett is a few spots behind Moore despite the tough matchup. Thielen, who's dealing with both a tough matchup and shaky QB, brings up the rear.

WEEK 14 STANDARD RANKINGS:
QBs | RBs | WRs | TEs | D/STs | Kickers

Start or Sit?: Week 14 fantasy TE lineup advice from RotoBaller

Kyle Pitts (vs. TB) vs. Evan Engram (@ CLE) vs. Tyler Conklin (vs. HOU) vs. Gerald Everett (vs. DEN)

Everett and Conklin have the best matchups -- and Engram is the safest bet for targets -- but Pitts is the highest-ranked in this group. He has a solid matchup in his own right, and he has the highest ceiling if he gets the targets. As is often the case with TEs, whoever scores a touchdown will likely be the highest ranked, and Pitts has a good shot at that this week.
