Fantasy Baseball OF Rankings 2022: Top players, sleepers at outfield image

It’s tough to call outfield the “deepest” offensive position in fantasy baseball because every team in your league has three or five OF slots to try to fill every day. However, it might be tougher not to call it the deepest when you see the 2022 OF rankings. As is always the case, the sheer number of viable options seems overwhelming at first glance.

But make no mistake, OFs will go quickly. Whether it’s because they’re elite all-around players, like Ronald Acuna Jr. or Mookie Betts, or because they’re absolute monsters in four categories and provide at least some steals, like Juan Soto or Mike Trout, you’re probably going to have at least one OF on your squad in the first five rounds.

DOMINATE YOUR DRAFT: Fantasy Alarm Ultimate Draft Guide

There are certainly enough decent producers and specialists to allow you to wait and piece an outfield together later in the draft, but you have to make sure you’re really hitting at other positions, especially pitcher, to take that route. Fortunately, plenty of good OFs will emerge on the waiver wire throughout the year, and whether they’re long-term keepers (remember Cedric Mullins) or flavors of the week, these players are crucial if you have injuries or busts.

Whether it’s a boring veteran like Mark Canha or Andrew McCutchen or a more exciting youngster like Riley Greene or Jo Adell, there’s no shortage of potential “sleepers” throughout the middle and late rounds of your draft.
