College Fantasy Football Sleepers 2021: Potential breakouts, draft-day steals image

A major key to a dominant college fantasy football draft is nailing those diamonds in the rough. Whether you call them sleepers, breakouts, or draft-day steals, those, those low-risk, high-reward players in the middle rounds and ends of draft can turn a great roster into a championship roster. Heading into 2021, CFBDynasty.com's rankings can help you build a great foundation, but it's worth it to take some chances and go "off the board" as your draft winds down.

Players who are commonly undervalued include guys who were previously injured, transfered, redshirted, and have some level of uncertainty about playing time.

2021 College Fantasy Football QB Sleepers

At quarterback, two position battles that are likely to fly under the radar but have great potential to impact a fantasy football roster are at Arkansas State and Washington State.

Arkansas State has new coach Butch Jones taking over, and the battle between Layne Hatcher and FSU transfer James Blackman will produce a potentially great fantasy starter.

Washington State will be favored in almost every game this fall -- that alone will surprise most college football fans. Its run-and-shoot offense really favors the QB for fantasy points. There’s a three-man battle currently that doesn’t even include five-star Sam Huard.

None of those players make our short list below since there’s low confidence on any player to actually win the job with the news currently, but make sure to keep tabs on the situation.

2021 College Fantasy Football RB Sleepers

North Carolina lost an incredible amount of production to the NFL draft this year when Javonte Williams and Michael Carter left. The Heels plan to replace that duo with someone who can run between the tackles and catch the ball -- namely, Tennessee transfer Ty Chandler.

TCU has upside this season as a dark-horse candidate to compete in the Big 12. At running back, five-star Zach Evans returns to a backfield, where it’s fully his job this year. He competed with Darwin Barlow last season, but Barlow has since transferred to USC. Evans finished the season strong and will look to bring that momentum back as the main starter.

Here’s the rest of our fantasy sleepers at running back:

2021 College Fantasy Football WR Sleepers

Arkansas State's Corey Rucker ranks highly in CFBDynasty fantasy WR rankings but isn’t well-known by most college football fans. He has potential for a monster season with WR1-type numbers in Butch Jones’ offense.

Jadon Haselwood was the No. 1 WR in his recruiting class but has battled injuries and could be on the verge of a breakout for Oklahoma. Marvin Mims broke out at WR as a freshman while Haselwood was injured, but Haselwood has the size to be the prime target in the red zone paired with the speed to be a threat on every down.

Here’s the rest of our fantasy sleepers at wide receiver:

Player Team Yr Conf Bye
Corey Rucker ArkSt So SBELT 7
Dontario Drummond Miss Sr SEC 4
Jadon Haselwood Okla So B12 10
Jermaine Burton UGA So SEC 8
Elijah Cooks Nev Sr MWC 4
