World Mixed Curling Championship 2022: Dates, time, tv channel, schedule and results image

For the third consecutive tournament, Canada has been crowned World Mixed Curling champions, as the country secured the win over Scotland at the 2022 tournament. 

Jean-Michel Menard's crew defeated Scotland 7-4 in the gold-medal game to secure the win. Canada previously won the tournament in 2018 and 2019. The competition did not take place in 2020 and 2021.

When is the 2022 World Mixed Curling Championship?

This year's tournament began Saturday, Oct. 15 and goes until Saturday, Oct. 22.

The round-robin runs from Oct. 15 to Oct. 20. On Oct. 21, the qualification games and quarterfinals will take place before the semifinals and finals occur on Oct. 22

What channel is the 2022 World Mixed Curling Championship on?

The 2022 World Mixed Curling Championship is not available to watch live on TV. 

Instead, if you want to watch every game at the tournament, all games will be on The Curling Channel, which can be streamed on Recast if you have a subscription. 

Where is the 2022 World Mixed Curling Championship taking place?

The tournament is being held at Curl Aberdeen in Aberdeen, Scotland. 

It is the second consecutive time that the tournament will be played in Aberdeen. The 2019 edition was also played in Scotland. 

Who is representing Canada at the 2022 World Mixed Curling Championship?

Canada is sending a group to Scotland led by Jean-Michel Menard, the skip of the crew. 

Joining him are Marie-France Larouche, who is vice-skip, then Ian Belleau and Annie Lemay. 

What is the purse for the 2022 World Mixed Curling Championship?

There is no prize money or purse for this tournament, just world bragging rights for the winners in addition to the medals. 

Who are the past winners of the World Mixed Curling Championship?

There have been only five World Mixed Curling Championship tournaments so far, as the first one began in 2015. Canada has earned the most medals (three) and most gold medals (two). 

It is the only country with multiple gold medals at the competition. Canada's crew in 2019 earned the win over Germany to claim back-to-back gold medals.

2022 World Mixed Curling Championship pool standings

There are 35 total teams playing in the competition. They will be split up into four groups — three of those will have nine teams, while one will have eight. 

The four winners from each group will move on, while the second and third-place teams will play in qualification games to determine who plays in the quarterfinals. 

After the field has been cut down to eight teams, it is single elimination the rest of the way.
