Saturday marks the beginning of the 2022 World Men's Curling Championship, where the best 13 countries in the world square off for nine days of grueling competition.
The annual event returns to the United States for the first time since 2018, as it is hosted at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas.
It is the second time that the 9,500-seat multi-purpose arena has played host for the international tournament. However, multiple curling tournaments have taken place at the building over the years.
Sweden is eyeing a four-peat at the tournament, as Niklas Edin's team has won the past three tournaments. His squad defeated Scotland last year in the gold-medal game by a score of 10-5.
Here's a look at where the World Men's Curling Championship is being played, along with the schedule for the event.
Where is the 2022 World Men's Curling Championship located?
The tournament will be hosted at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. The venue hosted the 2018 championship and has hosted multiple WFG Continental Cups.
The venue is home to the Vegas Rollers of World TeamTennis, a mixed-gender professional tennis league. It is also occasionally used by the UNLV basketball teams and is the temporary home of the AHL's Henderson Silver Knights, an affiliate of the Vegas Golden Knights. The hockey team is playing there while its new arena is being constructed in Henderson.
Other sporting events have taken place at the Orleans Arena. The Big3 basketball league played about half the games in its 2021 season at the venue. In addition, the West Coast Conference (WCC) has hosted its college basketball tournament there for both men and women.
