The playoffs for the 2023 Princess Auto Players' Championship is this weekend, with teams eyeing to win the final major on the Grand Slam of Curling.

There are six teams that make the playoffs each on the men's and women's side of the tournament. It is single elimination the rest of the way.

On the men's side, a new champion will be crowned, as two-time defending winner Bruce Mouat and his team from Scotland did not make it out of the round-robin.

The same goes for the women. Anna Hasselborg and her 2022 champions from Sweden failed to advance to the playoff portion of the competition.

2023 Players' Championship playoff format

The Players' Championship is split into two groups: men's and women's. The format for both tournaments is the same.

There are 12 teams in the competition. The field is split into two pools of six, where each team plays five round-robin matches.

The top six teams, regardless of pool, advance to the playoffs. Tiebreaker matches are used if needed. The playoff portion of the Players' Championship is single elimination.

The top team from each pool advances automatically to the semifinals. The No. 3 seed faces the No. 6 seed in the quarterfinals, as does the No. 4 and No. 5 teams. The winners advance to the semifinals where the two top teams wait. The semifinal winners face off in the final.
