What channel is the 2022 Players' Championship on in Canada?

The Players' Championship will be broadcast on Sportsnet with live streaming available on Sportsnet NOW and the Sportsnet app.

Play-by-play announcer Rob Faulds will be joined in the booth by analysts Kevin Martin, Mike Harris and Joan McCusker. Jennifer Jones will also return to the broadcast for select games throughout the week.

Where is the 2022 Players' Championship taking place?

The tournament is hosted at the Mattamy Athletic Centre in Toronto, Ont.

It is a part of Maple Leafs Gardens, the multi-purpose facility once the home of the Maple Leafs. The NHL club called the Gardens home from 1931 to 1999 before moving to the Scotiabank Centre.

Nowadays, it operates as the home rink for the Ryerson University hockey teams.

What is the purse for the 2022 Players' Championship?

The 16 men's and 16 women's teams are competing for a $35,000 cash prize if they win the tournament.

In total, there is a $350,000 cash prize that is split up amongst the teams on both sides.

More importantly, teams will earn points for the Pinty's Cup based on their placement in the Players' Championship. It is the final event of the season, so the Cup will be awarded at the conclusion of the tournament.

The top teams in the Pinty's Cup standings get cash prizes, with the first-place team receiving $50,000 as well as the Pinty's Cup.

2021-22 Pinty’s Cup prize breakdown

  • 1st: $50,000
  • 2nd: $25,000
  • 3rd: $15,000
  • 4th: $10,000

If there is a tie for first place, the team with the better result at the Players’ Championship will win the Pinty’s Cup.
