Edmonton was the home of curling last week, as the 2022 Everest Canadian Curling Club Championships wrapped up.
The games are an opportunity for the future curling stars of Canada. The tournament featured the top club-level curlers from every province and territory in Canada, with the addition of Northern Ontario. This means that top curling teams were not permitted at the event. Teams could only have one player who has played in a provincial men's, women's, or seniors event that season or the previous season.
New Brunswick claimed the gold in the women's competition while Ontario was the winner on the men's side.

2022 Everest Canadian Curling Club Championships standings
The fields of 14 for the men's and 12 for the women's tournament will each be split up into two groups. The men's pools will each have seven while the women's will have six. Those groups will play against each other in pool play.
After all, teams have played their six round-robin games, then the top four teams for each group advance to the championship round.
In the championship round, it is double elimination. The two groups cross-play each other, so A1 will play B4, A2 will play B3 and so on and so forth, advancing along in Bracket A if they win. Teams that lose in Bracket A will move to Bracket B until they lose again and are eliminated.
Once four teams are left standing, then those four teams will play in the semifinals. The winners of the semifinals meet in the gold medal game and the losers play for bronze.
The women's tournament typically has 14 teams, however, Yukon and Nunavut did not field teams this season.
