The 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup is about to begin, marking a historic first as the tournament comes to the United States and the West Indies.

England enters the competition as the defending champions, following their 2022 victory in Australia, but they face a highly competitive field, with a record-breaking number of teams participating.

This year's tournament will be cricket's first major global event in the U.S., with 16 of the 55 matches taking place across three American venues: Central Broward Park & Broward County Stadium in Florida, Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York, and Grand Prairie Stadium in Texas.

The excitement builds as the countdown to the opening match on June 1 begins, featuring debutant Canada against the U.S. in Texas.

The U.S. is also making its debut as a co-host in an International Cricket Council (ICC) tournament.

How to Watch T20 Cricket World Cup in USA and Canada

What is the format of the 2024 ICC T20 Cricket World Cup?

The 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup will feature 20 teams divided into four groups of five. The top two teams from each group will move on to the Super 8 round, which will split them into two groups of four.

From there, the top two teams in each group will advance to the knockout stage, consisting of two semifinals and the final.
