The K-State Wildcats were led by 22 points and nine rebounds from Xavier Sneed and Barry Brown, who finished with 13 points and three assists. No points were bigger than his driving layup with 18 seconds remaining to put K-State up for good.

Despite his woes at the line, Washington finished with 18 points, 15 rebounds and three steals. Kentucky's Shai-Gilgeous Alexander finished with 15 points and Kevin Knox contributed 13 points and eight rebounds, but it was not enough as K-State's stout defense held the Kentucky Wildcats to 38.1 percent shooting from the field and forced 15 turnovers.
