After patiently waiting for months, Los Blancos fans will finally get to see Endrick starting a match for Real Madrid.
At 18 years, 73 days old, the Brazil star was included in Carlo Ancelotti's starting XI for the club's Champions League match at Lille on Wednesday, making him the youngest starter for Real Madrid in the Champions League, breaking Raul's record from 1995.
Tthe exciting young forward was handed the chance at the expense of the club's most electric superstar, as new signing Kylian Mbappe was the one to drop out of the lineup. The French forward rested alongside fellow regular Rodrygo.
It marks the second match of the season across all competitions that Mbappe was not included in Madrid's starting lineup, having been absent for the Madrid derby four days ago due to a muscle injury. Prior to that, he had played 783 out of a possible 810 minutes for the club.
For Endrick, it's a big moment in the youngster's Real Madrid career. To this point, the teenage forward had played just 50 total minutes for the side, despite appearing in eight matches, all as a very late substitute.
Despite such limited action, he has picked up two goals and an assist, providing supporters with hope and excitement for what's to come. He came on and scored in his Champions League debut against Stuttgart two weeks ago, and will hope to follow that up with another strong performance in Europe.
For Rodrygo, Endrick's international teammate, it's only his second time seeing the bench so far this season, having started as a substitute against Las Palmas in La Liga play, only to come on at halftime.
