Liverpool are favourites to emerge winners ahead of Paris Saint-Germain in Group C of this year’s Uefa Champions League, says former Schalke 04 striker Victor Agali.
The English Premier League outfit finished as runners-up behind Real Madrid last season and will be eyeing the knockout stages but must negotiate their way past Napoli, Red Star Belgrade and PSG.

Except for the less fancied Serbian side, the Reds will face stiff challenges against the Ligue 1 champions and Napoli handled by three-time title winner Carlo Ancelotti in their bid to advance.
But Igali believes the quality in Klopp’s squad will help them overpower the French and Italian sides in the contention for the top spot in Group C.
“I think that Liverpool are favourites to end on top of Group C ahead of the PSG, who I expect to finish as the runners-up,” Agali told Goal.
“I see Napoli likely taking the third spot and should qualify for the Europa League. In the immediate past season, Liverpool got to the final and they a very good team. If Sallah had no injury in the final, anything could have happened against Real Madrid.
“This season, they have fortified squad and started well with a bang in England. For me, they are one of the favourites alongside Manchester City to clinch the English league title. They are going to be a formidable side, judging by their performance and experience they will win the group.
“It will be tight, but they will come out top in the group. I see them being a hard team to crack with the confidence they’ve gained from reaching the final last season and current form. Not just only finishing well in the group stages, I equally see them definitely going very far this year.
“I believe they will get an edge over two legs against PSG and the other teams. It will be really close. Napoli is another good side with an experienced coach [Carlo Ancelotti] but I see that only struggle for relevance but they will come up short of PSG.”
