Alouettes wide receiver Nik Lewis appears to be ready to hang up his cleats for good.
Lewis, 35, posted a cryptic message on his social media account earlier this week in which he expressed his gratitude and signed off with a parting message.
Thanks everyone. Can't wait for the book to come out on how I spent my last 4,877 days. #TimeWellSpent

Lewis had previously hinted that 2017 would mark the end of his playing career, but the veteran wasn't ready to make any official announcement. In May 2017, Lewis told CFL.ca that he "[feels] confident it'll be my last year."
On Oct. 27, Lewis registered 30 yards on three catches in the Alouettes' loss to the Saskatchewan Roughriders. After the game, Lewis told TSN's Lee Jones that it was his last game in the CFL.

Lewis' illustrious playing career spans across 14 seasons, during which he played for the Calgary Stampeders and Alouettes.
While in Calgary, Lewis quickly became a staple in the Stampeders offence. He surpassed the 1,000-yard plateau in nine of his 11 seasons and quickly made his mark in the record books. When the Stampeders opted not to re-sign Lewis in 2014, the Texas native ranked second in total receiving yards (11,250) and receptions (805). Lewis' 67 total touchdowns also rank third in the organization's history.
As a member of the Alouettes, the two-time Grey Cup champion became the league's all-time leader in receptions. It was just another accomplishment for Lewis to add to his resume as he further cemented himself as a future member of the Canadian Football Hall of Fame.
