The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have had their fair share of issues this season.

They didn't win their first game until Week 11 of the season, and have constantly been at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings.

None of that showed on Friday.

The Ticats flew past the Blue Bombers 30-13 in Winnipeg, giving them their fourth win of the season and keeping them alive in the playoff race. Winnipeg, who sits in second place in the West, was just two wins shy of clinching a home playoff game.

Out of the gate early

Hamilton didn't waste any time getting started. On the first drive of the game, quarterback Jeremiah Masoli found Brandon Banks for a 60-yard touchdown to give the Ticats a 7-0 lead.

They then added a pair of field goals to go up 13-0.

Now, Winnipeg drove down and answered with a touchdown of its own in the second quarter. But the two teams each kicked a field goal to close out the half, giving Hamilton a 16-10 lead.

Alex Green capped the Ticats opening drive of the second half with a one yard touchdown run, giving them a 12 point lead. The Blue Bombers added a field goal to close out the third quarter, but Masoli hit Luke Tasker for a three-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter, and then added the two-point conversion to give Hamilton the 17-point win.

Offensive dominance

Masoli had a stellar performance Friday night, going 27-of-33 for 338 yards and two touchdowns through the air. He hit six different receivers, three of them for more than 80-yards.

Banks picked up 104 yards through the air on six receptions and one touchdown. Jalen Saunders had 94 yards on six receptions and Shamawd Chambers had 81 yards on seven receptions.

Hamilton wasn't just limited through the air. Green had 20 carries for 97 yards against Winnipeg, scoring one touchdown and averaging nearly five yards per carry.

By the end of the game, Hamilton had racked up 478 yards of total offense.
