At least one professional football team was impressed by Terrell Owens' 40-yard dash.
On Monday, the 44-year-old shared an Instagram video in which he was shown covering 40 yards in 4.43 seconds. The time would've placed Owens, who was voted into the 2018 Pro Football Hall of Fame class earlier this year, among the top receivers at this year's NFL Combine.
The Instagram post set the social media world abuzz, and on Tuesday it was reported by TSN's Dave Naylor that the Edmonton Eskimos had added to the hype by placing Owens on their negotiation list.
Terrell Owens has always prided himself on staying in amazing shape. It’s part of his identity that got lost in the public personna. But pro football at 44 is unprecedented for a receiver. The CFL’s @EdmontonEsks added him to their negotiation list Tuesday. https://t.co/SdIoLQvZmh

With the Eskimos adding Owens to their negotiation list, the six-time Pro Bowl wide receiver can now activate a 10-day window during which the team would have to make him an offer or lose his CFL rights. It's the same regulation that the Hamilton Tiger-Cats used to begin the process to bring Johnny Manziel north of the border, but Naylor was quick to point out that the much younger former Cleveland Browns quarterback's situation is much different to that of Owens.
For those trying to draw parallels between 25-year-old @JManziel2 and 44-year-old @terrellowens in CFL context ... um, no, there are none. Zero. #CFL

Owens hasn't played in the NFL since 2010, after a 16-year career that included 153 touchdowns and nearly 16,000 receiving yards.
