It's been a perfect start to the 2018 Winter Olympics for Kevin Koe's rink. On Friday, the perfection continued.
Koe and co. defeated Korea 7-6 to improve to 4-0 in round robin play in Pyeongchang. The victory means Canada will remain atop the standings in the men's tournament.

While Korea led 1-0 through two ends, the Canadians stormed out in the third, picking up three points to jump into the lead, 3-1. Exchanges in the fourth and fifth ends saw Canada hit the break holding a 4-2 advantage.
In the seventh end, Canada began to pull away. A tricky shot executed by Koe put Canada in a position to earn back two points, and while it required a measurement to confirm, it did just that, and Koe's rink went by a score of 6-3.
From there, Canada need to just see its way to the finish line. A blank attempt by Kim Chang-min but an out-of-play Koe stone back in the house, resulting in a steal. Korea managed to earn back two points in the ninth end to draw within 7-5, but it was of no consequence. A steal in the 10th from Kim drew them one point closer, but as close as Korea would come to mounting a comeback.
Now at 4-0, Canada will be back in action again Friday night against Sweden, who also sits at 4-0 in round robin play.
