Eight NBA players headline the list of training camp invitees for Team Canada this summer.

NBA champions Cory Joseph (Indiana Pacers) and Tristan Thompson (Cleveland Cavaliers) front a list that includes Kelly Olynyk (Miami Heat), Jamal Murray (Denver Nuggets), Dillion Brooks (Memphis Grizzlies), Dwight Powell (Dallas Mavericks), Khem Birch (Orlando Magic) and Chris Boucher (Golden State Warriors).

"We're excited to continue the positive momentum that has been created through the first two windows as we look to take another step forward in our goal of qualifying for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019," said National Team head coach Jay Triano via press release.

The team will compete against China in the Pacific Rim Basketball Classic at Rogers Arena in Vancouver on Friday, June 22 at 7:30 p.m. PT. They'll also play on Sunday, June 24 at 5:00 p.m. PT at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre in Victoria before resuming their quest to qualify for the 2019 FIBA World Cup in China.

"The new qualification structure has showcased the depth of our program, that we have grown over several years, as we currently find ourselves near the top of our group heading into pivotal matchups to conclude the first round," said Rowan Barrett, Assistant GM/Executive VP, Senior Men's Program added in the press release.

"Hosting meaningful games at home on Canadian soil is an experience our players won't ever forget."

Canada will host the Dominican Republic on June 29th in Toronto and the U.S. Virgin Islands on July 2nd in Ottawa.

Andrew Wiggins, Tyler Ennis, Nik Stauskas and Trey Lyles will not participate in the training camp. TSN's Josh Lewenberg reported a "strained relationship"  between Wiggins and Triano as the reason why he won't attend camp. Wiggins last played for the National Team in 2015 at the FIBA Americas.

The final player roster will be released at a later date.
