Another week, another Canadian Premier League team unveiled.

The upstart soccer circuit announced its third founding club in front of a raucous crowd in Halifax on Friday, officially welcoming HFX Wanderers to the league. The Nova Scotia outfit follows York 9 and Cavalry FC as publicly unveiled teams, with several more expected as the league endeavours to announce a new club every week through the end of June.

Halifax's inclusion gives East Coast flavour to the fledgling league, and the club will be the primary tenant at a new purpose-built stadium on the Wanderers Ground in the city's downtown.

Set to kick off in 2019, the CPL will be considered a first division league alongside the three Canadian MLS teams. The CPL expects to kick off with 6-10 teams, as ownership groups in Winnipeg, Hamilton, and British Columbia are set to announce teams in the coming weeks, while established clubs in Ottawa and Edmonton are rumoured to also be joining the fold.
