Canada is on the verge of qualifying for the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup.

With the team having one foot in the tournament, talk inevitably turns to which players should represent the Maple Leaf when Canada takes on the world next year. Head coach Jay Triano has an embarrassment of riches at his disposal, with several Canadians currently employed as NBA regulars or plying their trade in Europe.

Then there are the NCAA players, with the likes of R.J. Barrett and Lugentz Dort dominating the college game.

It all makes for an exciting mental exercise, as Canada boasts the talent to seriously challenge for a medal.

"The fun in this debate is realizing there really isn't a bad answer and when you fill out the roster you have the luxury of cutting NBA guys - that's crazy when you really think about it," writes NBA.com's Carlan Gay. "Making the National team is going to be extremely tough if and when everyone decides to show up, heck even without a full complement of NBA guys the National team will be tough to make."

So who would start for Triano in China at next year's tournament? Check out what the experts had to say here.
