Report: Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant to miss three games due to health and safety protocols image

Following a health and safety protocols debacle against the Toronto Raptors, Kevin Durant was a scratch from the Brooklyn Nets' game against the 76ers in Philadelphia.

Head Coach Steve Nash shared details on the topic pregame.

Friday would mean Durant misses the Nets' next three games (including Saturday's contest against the Sixers). The seven-day quarantine due to contact tracing means the former league MVP will also miss the upcoming games against the Detroit Pistons and Indiana Pacers.

This will be his second multiple-game absence due to the NBA's coronavirus 'health and safety protocols' this season.

Three-game absence aside, Durant could rejoin the Nets when they travel to San Francisco to take on the Golden State Warriors next weekend – a franchise with which Durant won two NBA Championships in three seasons.

The game at the Chase Center will also be the first of the Nets' five-game road trip which includes two in Los Angeles against the Lakers and Clippers.

Coming off an Achilles injury that he suffered in Game 5 of the 2019 NBA Finals, Durant has been impressive this season, to say the least. Through 18 games in the 2020-21 campaign, he's averaging 29.5 points, 7.4 rebounds, 5.2 assists, and 1.4 blocks on shooting splits of .529/.449/.829
