Kevin Durant is the eighth member of the Brooklyn Nets to be placed in the NBA's Health and Safety Protocols, the team Saturday announced.
Update to the Injury Report for tonight's game vs. Orlando:

Durant (health & safety protocols) - OUT
Durant joins LaMarcus Aldridge, DeAndre Bembry, Bruce Brown, Jevon Carter, James Harden, James Johnson and Paul Millsap as Nets players sidelined due to the protocols. With eight players in the protocols and sharpshooter Joe Harris out while recovering from an ankle procedure, the Nets have used the NBA's hardship exemption to sign three players.
The Durant news comes on the heels of the Nets' announcement that Kyrie Irving would be permitted to rejoin the team on a part-time basis .
Any player that enters the NBA's Health and Safety Protocols must be sidelined for 10 days or record two negative PCR tests in a 24-hour period before they can resume basketball activities. If Durant is sidelined for 10 days, he will miss at least six of the Nets' upcoming games, including a Christmas Day visit to take on the Los Angeles Lakers.
This season, Durant is performing at an MVP level, posting averages of 29.7 points, 7.9 rebounds and 5.9 assists for the Nets, who are 20-7 with him in the lineup.
More to come.
