Yunier Dorticos and Andrew Tabiti will battle it out in the semifinals of the World Boxing Super Series cruiserweight division on June 15 in Riga, Latvia, live on DAZN.
The vacant IBF cruiserweight title will also be on the line, and the winner will advance to the final to face either Mairis Briedis or Krzysztof Glowacki, who also fight on the same night.
Dorticos (23-1, 21 KOs), from Cuba, won a tough 12-round unanimous decision over Mateusz Masternak in his quarterfinal. The KO artist has the chance of redeeming himself after last year’s semifinal defeat against Murat Gassiev and reach the final for the Muhammad Ali Trophy in the cruiserweight edition of the WBSS.
"It was an amazing experience that taught me a whole lot," Dorticos said in a WBSS press release. "Gassiev was a totally different fighter than what Tabiti is. The experience I gained in last year’s semifinal will definitely make the difference in the Season 2 semifinal this time around."
Dorticos went on to add, "I respect any man who gets in a ring, but Tabiti is in my way to the final and I will eliminate him at all cost. The fans in Riga can expect a show. I’m a prize fighter, and I’m going to make sure they get their money’s worth and more. When ‘The KO Doctor’ goes in that ring it will be nothing but fireworks and excitement. I don’t come to run, I come to fight!"

‘The Beast’ Tabiti (17-0, 13 KOs), a rising star among the Floyd Mayweather Promotions stable and who is trained by Floyd Mayweather Sr., has a dream of becoming a household name like his promoter, and the path to recognition is going through the World Boxing Super Series and the quest for the Ali Trophy.
"I’ve been waiting for the opportunity to prove I’m one of the best in my division since the beginning of my career," said Tabiti. "I believe this semifinal will show the world that I’m world champion material and able to win the trophy.
The explosive power-puncher is poised to enter the Arena Riga on June 15 and show his "A game," and the American predicts he will face Latvia’s Mairis Briedis in the final later this year. "I believe it is going to be Briedis and I. At first I thought Glowacki was a better fighter, but I looked him over again, and I think Briedis will take this fight. I see myself and Briedis in the final."
