Regis Prograis vs. Kiryl Relikh results: Fight winners, scores, highlights from full card image

Regis Prograis wouldn't let Kiryl Relikh breathe, smothering him with stinging, clean shots that did damage. "Rougarou" also slickly dodged the majority of the power shots aimed his way.

The combination made for a completely dominating performance by Prograis, who outclassed Relikh in a sixth-round TKO at the Cajundome in Lafayette, La., live on DAZN, to become the new WBA super lightweight champion and punch his spot in the World Boxing Super Series final.

Fighting in his native state, Prograis caught Relikh with a punishing body shot to score a knockdown in the first round and kept applying pressure for the remainder of the fight until a left-right hook combination to the body, followed by a left that rocked Relikh's jaw, prompted Relikh's corner to stop the fight and award "Rougarou" the championship victory.

The emphatic victory arguably puts 30-year-old Prograis into the pound-for-pound conversation. He spoke his own praises following the fight.

"I told y'all, I'm the f—ing real deal," he said during his postfight interview in the ring. "These li'l boys at 140 [pounds] cannot f— with me. I am the best and Imma keep proving it."

"That's a tough-ass dude," Prograis added. "He's never been stopped, he barely ever lost and I f—ingg just dominated the whole time and just stopped him."

Prograis (24-0, 20 KOs) advances to the WBSS final, where he'll have a chance to become the unified world super lightweight champion. He will face the winner of the May 18 semifinal between Josh Taylor and Ivan Baranchyk.

In the co-main event, Nonito Donaire picked up his 40th career pro victory and stamped his ticket to the WBSS bantamweight final with a scintillating sixth-round knockout of Stephon Young.

The KO came when Donaire (40-5, 26 KOs) caught Young with a devastating left hook across the jaw that seemingly knocked the challenger unconscious before he even hit the canvas with a thud. The knockout was so brutal that the referee immediately stopped the fight and Donaire instantly took a knee to check on Young.

Before the KO, Young managed to be a pesky challenger on three days' notice as a replacement for Zolani Tete, who injured his shoulder and had to bow out of the fight.

Although "The Filipino Flash" was in control, Young used his slick southpaw skills to land crisp shots. Donaire, though, showed a willingness to eat some of Young's punches and continue to walk the challenger down until he landed the vicious KO.

"We came in here with a good game plan and things happen," Donaire said. "I take the damage to earn the victory."

Donaire said he'd like to face Naoya Inoue in the WBSS bantamweight final. Inoue will fight Emmanuel Rodriguez in the other semifinal May 18.

Here's how the Prograis-Relikh card went (all times Eastern):

Main event: Regis Prograis dominates Kiryl Relikh with sixth-round TKO to become WBA super lightweight champion

Round 6: Prograis keeps going back to the body, opening with a left hook and then a straight left upstairs. Prograis lands a left-right hook combination to the body, following up with another left to the body for good measure. And now a stinging left hand rocks Relikh's jaw. Prograis is all over Relikh now and the champion's corner just stopped it. That's it! Prograis becomes the WBA super lightweight champion, while punching (literally) his ticket to the World Boxing Super Series final.

Round 5: A big left hand from Prograis snaps Relikh's head back in the first minute. A blistering overhand left follows about a minute later. Relikh shook his head as if to say that he was mad at himself for getting caught with such a power shot. Prograis doubles up on his left hook to end the round. He's in complete control. (50-44 Prograis)

Round 4: Prograis opens up with a left to the body, but Relikh returns the favor. You get the feeling that Relikh is going to stand in front of Prograis all night, daring "Rougarou" to make good on his prediction of knocking him out. Prograis is using slick head movement to dodge three punches, before stinging Relikh with a punch of his own. Prograis is in another gear speed-wise both offensively and defensively, but Relikh is hanging tough right in front of him. (40-35 Prograis)

Round 3: You've got to wonder just how much Relikh hurt Prograis with that shot after the bell because Prograis is pulling his punches this round. Relikh's punches are crisper this round. Prograis bouncing around, trying to regain some spring in his step, before landing a left-right combo to the body. Both fighters posture toward each other to end the round. Nod goes to Prograis slightly for this round. (30-26 Prograis)

Round 2: Prograis picks up where he left off, landing another stinging body shot to open the round. Prograis sits on another body shot, but Relikh answers with a counter punch. A straight right hand lands flush for Relikh, but Prograis has been teeing off. He lands a left to the body and then ducks and dodges Relikh's counter attempts. Prograis lands two straight lefts to drive Relikh back. Relikh is hurt and bleeding on the bridge of his nose. Another straight left from Prograis. Relikh lands a strong right hand across Prograis' jaw clearly after the bell. (20-17 Prograis)

Round 1: Relikh starts out trying to walk Prograis down, but Regis is asserting his jab nicely early on here. Nice body shot from Prograis to put Relikh on notice of his power. Prograis hurts Relikh with a punishing liver shot that makes the champion turn his back to "Rougarou." Prograis then charges across the ring and lands a couple of shots to make Relikh take a knee for a knockdown. Electric stuff early on. (10-8 Prograis)

11:04 p.m.: Regis Prograis, the WBSS super lightweight No. 1 seed, approaching the ring with his traditional mask and his son who's wearing his own identical mask, as they enter the ring to the sounds of Lil Wayne's "Can't Be Broken." It's already home cooking for Prograis in his native Louisiana. Coming out to fellow NOLA representative Weezy adds to it.

11:03 p.m.: Here comes WBA super lightweight champion Kiryl Relikh.

10:55 p.m.: DAZN cameras just showed UFC heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier wishing his fellow Louisiana native, Regis Prograis, well and urging him to put on a show for their home state.

10:50 p.m.: Donaire said he'd like to face Naoya Inoue in the WBSS bantamweight final, but first, Inoue must fight Emmanuel Rodriguez in the bantamweight semifinal in Glasgow on May 18.

Co-main event: Nonito Donaire def. Stephon Young by devastating sixth-round KO

Round 6: Donaire doesn't respect Young's power, showing a willingness to walk through the challenger's punches to land some power shots of his own. He opens the round with a double jab on Young. At 36, Donaire is outworking Young with a higher volume of punches. Still, Young is biting down and landing crisp shots this round. Whoa! A scintillating left hook from Donaire catches Young right on the jaw as he crashes to the canvas with a huge thud! The ref has seen enough and ends it right there. Donaire is down on his knee, making sure that Young is OK. Young is on his stool now, which is a good sign. What a knockout from Donaire. Wow! Give credit to Young for fighting on three days' notice as a replacement, but Donaire's veteran savvy and guile showed up big time here.

Round 5: Donaire comes out with a right hand that brushes Young back. "The Filipino Flash" continues to apply pressure as he seeks his 40th career pro win and a spot in the WBSS bantamweight final. A left jab followed by a right hand from Donaire. Seconds later, an uppercut brushes Young back. Young stings Donaire with a combination, but Donaire is back to walking him down. That round was close, with the slight nod to Donaire. (49-46 Donaire)

Round 4: Donaire back to walking Young down and peppering him with shots, really letting his hands go. A straight right slips through Young's guard and Donaire follows it with a stinging left uppercut that lands flush. Moments later, he adds a left hook. Young answered back, but Donaire counters. (39-37 Donaire)

Round 3: A little bit of swelling under the left eye of Donaire. Young lands a right hook and seems to be getting more comfortable. Young sticks a left hook and a straight left hand. It seems like the southpaw is giving Donaire a bit of trouble here in the pocket. Donaire goes back to the body, landing a left hook of his own. Strong right hand from Donaire makes Young stumble. Young felt every bit of that shot. Donaire adds a couple of more shots with Young pressed up against the ropes to take the round. (29-28 Donaire)

Round 2: A left uppercut brushes Young back before Donaire follows up seconds later with a left-right combo. Donaire walked into a right hand and got clipped with a stinging left-right combination from Young to end the second round. Just enough to steal the round. (19-19)

10:15 p.m.: DAZN cameras show Zolani Tete, who had to bow out of this fight earlier in the week due to a shoulder injury.

Round 1: Donaire lands a nice right hand to the body to get Young's attention, before the two trade punches seconds later. Donaire is already trying to cut off the ring and dictate the pace, landing a slick uppercut while doing so for good measure. (10-9 Donaire)

10:05 p.m.: Here comes Donaire, looking relaxed entering the ring.

10:03 p.m.: Young is making his way out to the ring, with Donaire to follow.

9:53 p.m.: Regis Prograis is in the building. He tells DAZN that everyone tuning in is going to get a show tonight.

9:46 p.m.: Jeremy Hill defeats Kaylyn Alfred via third-round TKO after scoring two knockdowns with punishing body shots. The undercard is a wrap. Donaire-Young is next.

9:15 p.m.: The last undercard bout is on next, before Nonito Donaire faces Stephon Young with Donaire's WBA bantamweight title on the line in the World Boxing Super Series bantamweight semifinal. Young is the replacement for Zolani Tete, who suffered a shoulder injury and had to bow out. Young only found out Wednesday that he'd be taking Tete's spot.

9:01 p.m.: A second consecutive bout just ended via injury: Sean Hemphill defeats Dennis Williams by TKO after the referee ends the fight following the first round. Williams appeared to suffer a biceps injury.

8:51 p.m.: The second bout on the undercard just ended after the second round, with Ivan Reyes' corner ending the fight due to a freak shoulder injury that he suffered earlier in the match while attempting a left hook. Jonathan Montrel picks up the TKO and improves to 3-0.

8:37 p.m.: Melissa Hernandez opened up a nasty cut on Selina Barrios' face and kept applying the pressure en route to a unanimous decision win.
