Oscar Valdez vs. Liam Wilson undercard: Complete list of fights before main event in 2024 boxing match image

Oscar Valdez and Liam Wilson's path to fighting for super featherweight gold takes a pitstop in Glendale, Arizona, as the two square off at the Desert Diamond Arena on March 29.

Valdez (31-2) turned pro in 2012 and beat Matias Rueda in 2016 for the WBO featherweight title. Following six defenses, the Mexican star moved north to super featherweight where he would outpoint Robson Conceicao for the WBC belt. He has since gone 1-2, losing in title fights to Shakur Stevenson and Emanuel Navarrete.

Wilson (13-2) turned pro in 2018. The Aussie also lost to Navarrete, in a bout for the WBO title last year, but has bounced back with two straight wins. His last contest was a close decision triumph over Jackson Jon England in December.

While Navarrete beat both men, Wilson's loss was controversial. The Australian star scored a heavy knockdown against the champ who was given an astonishing 27 seconds to regain his senses in round four. He stormed back to prevail in the ninth, but the result left a bad taste in Wilson's mouth.

“Valdez is exactly the fight I wanted and deserve after what I went through against Navarrete,” Wilson said. “The history books show that he beat both of us last year, but this time around we won’t need the officials. Valdez is a good fighter, a tough man, but after what I’ve been through already and what I plan on bringing, I believe he’s going to regret taking this fight.”

An undisputed title fight, which is main-event worthy, and a host of young guns fill out the Valdez vs. Wilson undercard:
