Over the years, boxing has seen the careers of family members start at the same time. The Klitschkos, Marquezs, and Spinks brothers are examples of siblings who have reached the summit of the sport. More recently, the Charlo brothers have recently joined the list and they maintain a firm grip on their respective divisions.
Jermell, the undisputed super welterweight champion, has the backing of Jermall, the WBC middleweight titleholder. The Houston natives have the skills to back up their trash-talking outside of it. From entertaining press conferences to intense fight nights, their fighting styles have made them fan favorites and polarising personalities.
"Nobody else is going to draw the attention that the Charlo twins will," Jermall told CBS Sports in 2018. "A lot of fighters don't like to critique other fighters because this is a fighting sport. But just like when you have good days and bad days, we are OK to talk about it. It's not so bad for me and my twin brother to critique each other because we have been criticized by everyone else too.
"It's not that I'm trying to be nasty or try to have trash talk or anything like that, but when you have been boxing as long as us, we feel like we are at the top, and we notice a lot of these fighters aren't built like us [where] you can say what you want.”

While Jermall has been out of action for a while, Jermell looks to pick up the slack when he faces Canelo Alvarez for the status of undisputed super middleweight champion on September 30.
There were rumors that Jermall would fight Canelo until Jermell vs. Canelo was officially announced. If Team Charlo wins this one, then being undisputed in two weight classes would be another thing for them to brag about.
With similar names, it often gets confusing to compare the two. The Sporting News now provides the key differences between Jermell and Jermall.
