What will happen when Jake Paul and Tommy Fury finally fight one another in a boxing ring today?

Some expect chaos, while others are hoping for something respectable for the sport of boxing. Either way, each fighter is on a mission to prove themselves.

Paul vs. Fury will take place at the Diriyah Arena in Saudi Arabia. That venue has hosted Andy Ruiz Jr. vs. Anthony Joshua 2 and several WWE Crown Jewel events.

This fight is going ahead at the third time of asking, with Fury having backed out of previous dates due to a rib injury and visa issues. The half-brother of WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, Tommy is 8-0 against journeymen, but he has boxed all his life.

Still, he can’t escape Paul’s name anywhere he goes. The 23-year-old is now ready to put this rivalry behind him.

“Third time’s a charm, and we’re here. I’m in super-fit condition,” Fury said at the pre-fight press conference. “I’m ready to go put this all to bed because, for the past two-and-a-half years, it’s been, ‘When are you fighting Jake Paul?’

“To even mention my name in the same sentence is disrespectful to me, a person who’s been boxing my whole life. I’m going to clinically knock this guy out early.”

A YouTuber and leader of Most Valuable Promotions, Paul has won six fights since turning pro in 2020. And while Fury is the first boxer that he will ever have faced in a professional ring, his confidence remains intact.

“We’ve picked this guy apart,” Paul stated. “We’ve studied him. He makes a lot of mistakes. He’s great on offense. He’s got a great jab. Lots of combos. Speed. Good footwork. Good movement.

“He’s a good boxer, but he’s not a great boxer. His lack of defense and lack of head movement is going to be exposed on Sunday.”

The bout has attracted huge criticism from some quarters, with many a hardcore boxing fan unhappy with the attention surrounding it and huge payday on offer.

That payday has been the subject of Paul's latest social media output, too, as he attempts to add more spice to proceedings in the final hours. The American offered Fury a new all-or-nothing contract earlier this week, which Paul insists is yet to be signed by the other party.
