George Kambosos has denied claims Maxi Hughes was 'robbed' during Saturday night's lightweight bout in Oklahoma, with the Australian star now focusing on a potential IBF World Title shot.
After two-straight losses to Devin Haney last year, the former champion escaped with a 114-114 117-111 115-113 majority decision victory over the Englishman after a gritty 12-round fight.
Kambosos was the aggressor for most the fight but failed to land any major blows, while Hughes was a surprise packet and countered the Australian's pressure with some nice shots throughout.
The scorecards left plenty of boxing fans and commentators scratching their heads - particularly the 117-111 given by one judge - but it was enough for Kambosos to keep himself in contention for a future championship opportunity.

But in response to the commentary surrounding his triumph, Kambosos hit back on Twitter and urged fans not to listen to any biased reaction.
A close fight is not a robbery 🤦🏻♂️ With that being said, full respect to Maxie, we knew he would come to fight & how dangerous he was. A true top 10 lightweight for my return! We give him the utmost respect, it was an honour to share the ring with another warrior & family man. ⬇️ pic.twitter.com/kDpwQcdIUU

Kambosos now holds a career record of 21-2, with the only two blemishes coming against Haney, who is widely-regarded as one of the best pound-for-pound boxers in the world.
Who will George Kambosos fight next?
At this stage, Kambosos' next fight has not be determined, with the Aussie lightweight hoping to move into IBF World Title contention.
The likes of Shakur Stevenson, Keyshawn Davis and Vasyl Lomachenko have all been floated as potential fights for Kambosos following his majority decision victory over Hughes.
