Triller hosted a legendary throwback boxing fight between Mike Tyson, the youngest fighter in the sport to win a heavyweight title, and Roy Jones Jr. in November of 2020. Now, the social network service will feature another event with two former stars on Saturday: Evander Holyfield and Vitor Belfort.

Unlike most boxing fights in today’s era, this bout will not be available on streaming services like ESPN+, Showtime or FOX. Instead, it can be viewed on Triller, “an AI-powered entertainment app that allows users to create professional-looking videos in a matter of seconds.”

Triller was launched in July of 2015 and also allows users to “create and share short-form videos, including videos set to, or automatically synchronized to music using artificial intelligence technology.” In December of 2020, Triller launched its self-branded "The Fight Club" with Snoop Dogg, which hosted Tyson vs. Jones as well as Jake Paul vs. former UFC fighter Ben Askren in April.

Here is some more information on the application that will be broadcasting Saturday's boxing card.

Triller is a video-sharing social networking service. It allows users to create and share short videos, including videos manually set to music or otherwise have it sync automatically via artificial intelligence technology. Released for Android and iOS in 2015, it has evolved to include social networking features after originally operating as a video editing app.

Triller has a heavy association with the music business, having deals in place with Spotify and Apple Music to use songs from their libraries. Proxima Media is the majority investor, but Sony Music Entertainment, Warner Music Group, and Universal Music Group have also invested in the app. Several artists have invested in the app as well, including Marshmello, The Weeknd, Snoop Dogg and Lil Wayne.

Here's how Triller defines itself:

"Triller is an AI-powered entertainment app that allows users to create professional-looking videos in a matter of seconds. Pick a song, select the portion of the song you want to use, snap a few takes and with the tap of a button you have a celebrity-quality music video starring you and your friends."

Why is the Evander Holyfield fight on Triller?

Triller Fight Club is a combat sports league owned by Triller. Its first full-fledged event was when Paul fought Askren in April of 2021.

Triller partnered with Tyson’s Legends Only League to promote its first first event on November 28, 2020, Tyson vs. Jones Jr. On March 26, de la Hoya announced that he would make his boxing comeback on Triller, and Belfort explained the appeal of the match on the service in July.

“I see us as the Red Sea opener,” Belfort said. “We opened the Red Sea, we put a ring in the middle, and the show’s on Triller. So you cannot miss that.”

The service will also host a fight between unified lightweight champion Teofimo Lopez Jr. and George Kambosos Jr. on Oct. 4. Saturday’s card between Holyfield and Belfort will begin at 7 p.m. ET.
