Deontay Wilder's undefeated record in on the line when he faces Haitian-Canadian Bermane Stiverne for the WBC heavyweight championship.
For Stiverne, the fight is his chance at redemption. He lost the championship to Wilder in January 2015. The result came by way of a unanimous decision — the only time Stiverne has lost via decision in his professional career.
Stiverne, 38, won the lone fight since his loss, which set up Saturday's mandatory rematch against Wilder.
Wilder remains extremely confident heading into the fight. He went so far as to say, "If Bermane Stiverne beats me, I will retire." Wilder has put a whole new meaning to the term of "fighting champion." Since claiming the WBC heavyweight title from Stiverne, the 32-year-old has five successful defenses — including a knockout victory over Artur Szpilka in the very same building he will fight in on Saturday.
