The 28-year-old Puerto Rican rising star was last seen delivering a devastating first-round knockout of Yuandale Evans in October at Madison Square Garden to improve his record to 21-0 with 17 KOs.

A win over Cancio (19-4-2) on Feb. 9 could bring Machado one step closer to landing a title unification bout against the likes of Tevin Farmer or Gervonta Davis; the latter, coincidentally, will defend his WBA super featherweight strap against Abner Mares on Feb. 9.
Golden Boy Promotions boxers Machado, Jaime Munguia and Ryan Garcia all have a chance to be breakout stars in the sport.
