Canada won the game, but may have lost another player.

In an exhibition game on Wednesday against New Zealand in Sydney, Australia, 19-year-old guard Andrew Nembhard had to be helped off the floor after colliding with an opponent in the first quarter. Canada would go on to win the game, 103-100, in overtime.

Nembhard lasted just 50 seconds in the contest, suffering an apparent right knee injury with 3:33 left in the opening quarter. Receiving a pass outside the three-point line, Nembhard drove toward the basket and collided with Kiwi guard Ethan Rusbatch, causing the young Canadian to fall awkwardly to the floor.

After trying to hobble off the court under his own power, Nembhard sat down to receive treatment from the Canadian medical staff.

Nembhard has impressed during Canada's series of exhibition games ahead of the upcoming FIBA Men's Basketball World Cup. The teenager, who will return to the Florida Gators this year after a standout freshman campaign, scored 17 points in Canada's 122-88 victory over New Zealand on Tuesday and has seen regular playing time under head coach Nick Nurse as the team prepares for its first World Cup since 2010.

With several of Canada's bigger names dropping out of contention for Nurse's squad, the coach has leaned on Nembhard and other lesser-known players to pick up the slack with a berth in the 2020 Olympics also on the line when the team's World Cup campaign gets underway.
