Three games between teams that made the playoffs in 2017 take place in week 2. The headline matchup of Week 2 is a rematch of last year's AFC Championship game between the New England Patriots and Jacksonville Jaguars in Jacksonville. The Jaguars had Tom Brady on his heels before he led the Patriots to 14 unanswered points en route to a 24-20 victory and another Super Bowl appearance. The Jaguars return practically everyone from their stout defense this year. Many analysts think that both teams will be back in the playoffs this season, meaning we could see an early playoff preview in a game that could decide who has home field advantage if the two teams meet down the line.

Another matchup between two playoff teams from last season takes place in Atlanta where the Falcons host the Carolina Panthers. The Falcons come off a Week 1 matchup against the defending champion Philadelphia Eagles hoping to win their home opener.

The final matchup between teams that made the playoffs in 2017 is between the Kansas City Chiefs and Pittsburgh Steelers. The Chiefs have a new look at quarterback this season as they're led by second-year quarterback Patrick Mahomes. He and Kareem Hunt travel to Pittsburgh to face a Steelers defense that was one of the best in football in 2017 to go along with their talented, multi-faceted offense.

Another notable matchup in Week 2 is the Minnesota Vikings vs. the Green Bay Packers. The rivalry is renewed between these two teams as Aaron Rodgers faces the Vikings for the first time since he suffered a season-ending collarbone injury against them in 2017.

All times are Eastern.
