Every year, EA Sports provides a first look at the publisher's upcoming slate of sports video games through its EA Play press briefing event in mid-June.

That happened today and included the first trailer for "Madden NFL 19," providing an opportunity to see the new animation technology being touted for this year in action called "Real Player Motion".

Notably in the trailer is a quick glimpse of Seahawks rookie linebacker Shaquem Griffin who had his hand amputated as a child. There was some question as to whether Griffin would be represented any differently than the usual player model. Jason Pierre-Paul, for example, was never given the club he wears on his injured hand following the amputation of a finger and part of his thumb.

"Madden NFL 19" will release August 7 for those buying the $80 'Hall of Fame' Edition which features Terrell Owens on the cover. The standard edition will follow on August 10. Besides PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, the game will also be releasing on PC for the first time since 2007.
