Superstars Roger Tuivasa-Sheck and Jessica Sergis have claimed the prestigious men's and women's Golden Boot awards for their stellar international campaigns.

Tuivasa-Sheck claimed the crown for this year's best international player ahead of teammate Jared Waerea-Hargreaves and Tongan forward Sio Suia Taukeiaho.

Other players who were in contention were Kangaroos pair Damien Cook and Payne Haas, Tongan playmaker Tui Lolhea and Great Britain second-rower John Bateman.

The 2018 Dally M medalist was instrumental in the Kiwis' wins over Tonga and Great Britain, and was one of the best on the field in his side's loss to the Kangaroos in Wollongong.

Incredibly, the Warriors captain becomes just the fifth Kiwi to claim the award since it's 1984 inception, behind Hugh McGahan, Stacey Jones, Benji Marshall and Shaun Johnson.

The decision not to hand the Golden Boot to fellow contenders Waerea-Hargreaves and Taukeiaho continues the theme of a front-rower not yet claiming the coveted award.

Meanwhile, Sergis' Golden Boot crown caps off a remarkable 2019 season, in which she was named Dally M medalist and RLPA Players' Champion in the NRLW for the Dragons.

The 22-year-old speedster was voted the best player this international season, edging out teammate and Jillaroos halfback Ali Brigginshaw and England captain Emily Rudge.

It's just the second year the women's Golden Boot has been crowned, after fellow Jillaroos centre Isabelle Kelly took home the inaugural award in 2018.
