Sabrina Ionescu is one of the best players in the WNBA. While she was overshadowed this season by rookie sensation Caitlin Clark and reigning MVP A'Ja Wilson, Ionescu has gotten the Liberty to the WNBA Finals.
The Liberty drafted the point guard with the first overall pick in the 2020 WNBA draft after she spent five years with the Oregon Ducks. Despite only being in the league for five years, Ionescu has been named to three consecutive WNBA All-Star teams, three consecutive All-WNBA Second Teams and won the 2023 WNBA Three-Point Shootout. Ionescu has a sponsorship deal with Nike, becoming the 12th WNBA player in history to have a signature shoe with a company.
Ahead of a 2023 season where she inked her shoe deal and won the Three-Point content, she got engaged. Ionescu said yes to long-time boyfriend Hroniss Grasu and the couple tied the knot in March 2024. Let's meet Grasu and take a look at their relationship timeline.

Sabrina Ionescu and Hroniss Grasu relationship timeline
Ionescu and Grasu didn't overlap at Oregon. He entered the NFL Draft in 2015, meaning his last football season at Oregon was in 2014, and she started playing for the Ducks in 2016. They likely were introduced to one another after he had already gone to the NFL, but the timing of the start of their relationship is unknown.
Ionescu has done a good job of keeping her private live private. She didn't post about Grasu on social media until 2021, when Ionescu put out a message for Grasu's birthday.
The couple got engaged in January 2023. Grasu planned the proposal with Ionescu's agents. She thought she was doing an interview with GQ, but Grasu surprised Ionescu with a ring instead. They got married in March 2024.
