Ashleigh Barty dispatched former finalist Eugenie Bouchard while Daria Gavrilova won an all-Australian battle against Sam Stosur to progress to the third round at Wimbledon on day four.
Barty accounted for Bouchard in straight sets, 6-4 7-5, in a hard-fought encounter against the Canadian.
After claiming the first set, the 17th seed was in a hole at 2-5 in the second but dug deep to win the next five games and progress to the third round for the first time in her Wimbledon career.
The in-form Barty will face 14th seed Daria Kasatkina or Kazakh Yulia Putintseva in the third round.

Gavrilova was too strong for Stosur earlier on day four, earning a 6-4 6-1 victory over her countrywoman.
She claimed the opening set after Stosur gave up a service break with a double fault and kept the momentum in the second to roar to a 5-0 lead.
The pressure of trying to serve her way into Wimbledon’s third round for the first time appeared to get to Gavrilova as Stosur broke back to prolong the contest.
But Gavrilova finally sealed the deal on her sixth match point, breaking Stosur on her next service game to set up a showdown with Taylor Townsend or Aliaksandra Sasnovich in the round of 32.
