There was plenty of conjecture around the events during the UFC 248 main event title fight between Israel Adesanya and Yoel Romero - but the challenger certainly crossed a line in the press conference.

Adesanya retained his middleweight title in what was described by most as a 'boring' fight, and Romero claimed that the champ was running away during the contest.

But the Cuban took it too far during the post-fight presser, making a racist remark about Adesanya's ancestry that he forced his translator to say to the media.

"You have to remember that his descendants from Africa were great runners and he should've planned better for that," he said.

The line was definitely crossed by Romero, and Sporting News own Brendan Bradford gave his take on Twitter about the remarks.

Adesanya is now expected to fight Paulo Costa later this year for the belt.
