Tai Tuivasa's losing streak in the UFC has continued, after he was forced to tap out in the first round by Marcin Tybura.
The Australian hasn't won a fight since February 2022, dropping four straight to Ciryl Gane, Sergei Pavlovich, Alexander Volkov, and now being stopped by Tybura.
The fight started with some early fireworks, as these two heavy hitters traded blows. However, once Tybura was successful in his takedown attempt, it was a slow march towards inevitability, as Tybura controlled Tuivasa's back, landing a colossal amount of head punches from on top, before taking his opponent's neck.
Tuivasa tried to fight it but was forced to tap out with just under a minute left.
This four-game losing streak comes on the heels of his five-game win streak, which saw him become one of the UFC's fan favourites, but it was been a steep decline for the heavyweight who turns 31 on the day of his latest defeat.
Following the fight, the 38-year-old Tybura said that he wanted this win to prove that he still had a lot left to give.
"I just want to prove to everybody that I'm still capable of doing good in the top 10, so right now it's just proving that," Tybura said.
"I didn't come prepared with any names, because I'm coming out of the loss, so I really wanted to focus on this one. I don't have [a name to give], but anyone from the top 10 would be great for me."
