Will Bernard Tomic play at Australian Open 2024?

Tomic enjoyed a strong recent campaign, currently sitting at No. 287 in the ATP rankings after falling to as low as No. 825 in 2022.

The Australian has focused on Challenger circuit tournaments as he targets a return to top-level and grand slam tennis.

Last year, he reached the quarter-finals of a Challenger event in Brasilia and was the champion of an ITF tournament in the United States.

With his current ranking, Tomic did not earn automatic entry into the Australian Open main draw, and also narrowly missed out on the qualification tournament.

This left a wildcard — of which there are just eight for the men's singles — as his only chance at entry.

However, he was not awarded a wildcard for the upcoming Australian Open, and will not feature at Melbourne Park.

When did Bernard Tomic last play at the Australian Open?

Tomic last featured in the Australian Open main draw in 2021, where he reached the second round.

His best result at Melbourne Park is a fourth-round finish, which he has achieved three times — in 2016, 2015 and 2012.
