Olivia Gadecki age, rank, career titles

Gadecki first picked up a tennis racquet as a toddler and was later scouted as a promising junior.

As a 12-year-old, she was one of 16 players selected to participate in the Longines Future Tennis Aces competition in Paris in the lead-up to the French Open in 2014.

Just two years later, Gadecki made her main draw debut on the ITF Circuit at a tournament in Brisbane.

Once she finished school, the right-hander started competing in WTA events – her first being a wildcard entry into the Gippsland Trophy in 2021.

In February that year, she won her first WTA Tour singles main draw match at the Phillip Island Trophy.

That tournament also saw her claim her maiden top-10 win, defeating former Australian Open champion Sofia Kenin.

Gadecki's first professional singles title came in Turkey in May 2021 – the first of three ITF titles of her career thus far.

Despite being in line to make her Australian Open debut in 2022, Gadecki did not enter her home grand slam tournament because she was not vaccinated against COVID-19.

She featured in the main draw at Melbourne Park the following year though, where she defeated Polina Kudermetova in the first round before being eliminated the following match.

After a consistent 2023 campaign, Gadecki is currently the world No. 127 in singles — a career-high.

The 21-year-old will make her second appearance in the Australian Open main draw in 2024, provided with a wildcard entry into the tournament.
