The Australian Open is here once again, as the world's top players do battle in the first Grand Slam of the year.
Among these contestants will be Arina Rodionova, the Russian-born Australian and current top-ranked Australian women's player who will be seeking to improve on a career-best second-round finish in 2020.

Arina Rodionova age, rank, career titles
Now 34, Arina Rodionova was born in Russia in 1989, and began playing tennis when she was just three years old.
Rodionova made her professional debut in 2004, competing in an ITF Women's Circuit event in Protvino, Russia.
Over her near two decades of professional tennis, Rodionova has seen limited success in singles play, her grand slam career-best finish being second-round appearances at the Australian Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open, but has exploded over the last 12 months.
Her current singles rank is 112, a career-best, and she claimed seven of her 15 career ITF titles in 2023.
She has also been prolific in doubles play. She has won one WTA doubles event, qualified for the Quarter Final of the Australian Open in women's doubles (2016) and mixed doubles (2021), and has held a career-best ranking of 41 in the world.
However, Rodionova's recent form was not enough to see her gain automatic entry into the Australian Open, after she was controversially denied a wildcard spot by Tennis Australia.
Arina Rodionova prize money
Rodionova has earned a total of US$2,063,260 (AU$3,020,968) in prize money during her career, according to the WTA.
Her massive 2023 success largely contributed to this, earning US$158,296 (AU$231,772) in the past year alone.
