Who is Naomi Osaka?

Naomi Osaka is a two-time Australian Open champion, winning the tournament in 2019 and 2021.

The 24-year-old was born in Japan, moved to the United States when she was three years old, and plays under the Japanese flag.

Osaka is known for her aggressive playing style and fast serve, reaching speeds of up to 200+ kilometres per hour.

A four-time Grand Slam singles champion, she is currently ranked No. 13 in the world following a disrupted year where she focused on her mental health.

On top of her tennis ability, Osaka is one of the world's most recognisable athletes and was the global highest-paid female sportsperson in 2020.

Who is Novak Djokovic?

Novak Djokovic is the undisputed king of Melbourne Park, picking up a record nine Australian Open men's singles titles.

The 34-year-old from Serbia is currently ranked No. 1 in the world and possesses an impressive 83% career win rate.

Beginning his career in a war-torn Serbia in the 1990s, Djokovic won his first ATP event in 2006 before securing his first Australian Open - and Grand Slam - title in 2008.

He has won the last three Australian Opens and is renowned for his all-round ability and aggressive baseline play.

There will be a new men's singles champion in 2022, with Djokovic deported following the cancellation of his visa.
