US Open winner, Carlos Alcaraz, will compete in his first Wimbledon singles final against the seven time Wimbledon champion, Novak Djokovic.

It will be a battle between tennis' best as the world number one and two face off at the world's oldest tennis tournament.

When does the Wimbledon men's final start in Australia?

The Wimbledon 2023 men's singles final will begin at 11:00 pm AEST on Sunday, July 16.

This means it will be taking place in the early afternoon in London - 2:00 pm BST.

This year's final will be shown on Channel 9's primary channel. 

Pre-match coverage will begin at 10:30 pm AEST, with the action to get underway roughly half an hour later.

After reaching the Round of 16 in 2022, Carlos Alcaraz is set to play in his first ever Wimbledon final.

Fresh off winning the Queen's Club Championship prior to Wimbledon, his first career tournament win on grass, Alcaraz has been on a tear.

The Spanish superstar has only lost two sets on his way to the final only dropping sets to Nicolas Jarry and Matteo Berrettini.

He dispatched of his first two matches with ease and made lightwork of the red hot Daniil Medvedev in the semi final winning in straight sets.

The World Number 1 will be looking to make a massive statement as he tries to take the crown from the legendary Novak Djokovic.

Novak Djokovic: Wimbledon 2023 results, schedule, ranking

The man who became the first every triple Grand Slam champion at this year's French Open looks set to add to his 23 Grand Slam singles titles.

Like Alcaraz, Djokovic has only lost two sets on his way to the final.

Djokovic was rarely challenged in his matches, with Hubert Hurkacz causing him the the most trouble as the game included two tie-breakers and ran for over three hours.

He would overcome a bizarre hinderance call in the second set of the semi final against Janik Sinner. The chair umpire would rule against Djokovic for an extended grunt which ruffled the No. 2's feathers, but he regrouped to take the match in three sets.

Carlos Alcaraz vs. Novak Djokovic: Head-to-head record

Alcaraz and Djokovic have faced just twice before with the pair splitting the wins with a 1-1 head-to-head record.

Alcaraz remarkably beat Djokovic at the Madrid Open in the semi final after beating Rafael Nadal in the quarter final. He eventually went on to win the Madrid Open becoming the first player to beat the pair back-to-back on clay.

Djokovic would take the spoils in their most recent matchup at the 2023 French Open where Djokovic won on his way to winning his third Roland Garros title.
