On the back of her stunning US Open final win, Emma Raducanu's dream day was rounded off with a classy message from Queen Elizabeth II.
Raducanu, only 18, beat Leylah Fernandez 6-4, 6-3 in the decisive match on Sunday morning (AEST) with both teenagers going into the final having not been seeded for the tournament.
It was Britain's young prodigy that held her nerve best with Raducanu remarkably not dropping a set through her triumphant US Open campaign.
The fairytale run was rewarded with a dream message from the Queen herself, who was clearly quite taken with the teenager's efforts.
"I send my congratulations to you on your success in winning the United States Open Tennis Championships," Queen Elizabeth II said via an official statement.
"It is a remarkable achievement at such a young age, and is testament to your hard work and dedication.
"I have no doubt your outstanding performance, and that of your opponent Leylah Fernandez, will inspire the next generation of tennis players.
"I send my warmest good wishes to you and your many supporters."
Raducanu, currently ranked 23rd in the world, showed real composure in her first taste of a Grand Slam final, with her first career title one to remember.
"It means everything to hold this trophy and I don't want to let go right now," Raducanu said via Amazon Prime.
"Yesterday there were weird feelings I couldn't put my finger on, I think that's just normal, when I came out it was business as usual, one point at a time. I had to fight hard for that first set and keep myself ahead in the second.
"In the key moments, I came out with some clutch serves and was changing direction as early as possible."
Triumph in the final saw Raducanu walk away with US$2.5 million in prize money.
