Australian star Alex de Minaur is through to the third round of the US Open after a straight sets victory over Cristian Garin - booking himself a clash with Japan's Kei Nishikori in the process.
The 20-year old had little issue in the 6-3 7-5 6-3 victory and will now take on the 7th seed as he looks to make his the last 16 of a grand slam for the very first time.
De Minaur was affected by the poor weather on Thursday but after the delays he remained focused and claimed another big win.

Speaking after the match, the Australian said it didn't bother him too much that he had to wait around to get back on the court.
"I’m probably a lot different to a lot of the other players, days like yesterday don’t bother me too much,” he said.
“The only bad thing is you’ve got to do your warm-up 17 times because you think you’re going to be on court and all that.
"I’m very chilled, so I’ll just be in the locker room or be in the restaurant or eating food or just sitting down, pretty much doing what I would do if I was in my hotel room.
“So it doesn’t really affect me and I can get my head into the game once I get out there on court so yesterday was fine.”
de minaur has been in strong form this year, claiming ATP Tour titles in Sydney and Atlanta, and will face a tough task in the third round in Nishikori.

But the Aussie won't be backing down, and says he will be taking his trademark approach into the big match.
“I will go out there and just play fearless...that is when I play my best tennis,” he said.
“I can draw a lot of good feelings from last year. I had a very tough match against Cilic and I just went out there and took it to him and obviously it was a little bit of a heartbreaker, but ultimately that is the way I have to play and that is what you want.
“You want to be playing these top guys at the top of their level. Hopefully I can really come out tomorrow and give it my best crack.”
In some bad news, Australian Ajla Tomljanovic was bundled out in three sets by 21st seed Anett Kontaveit 4-6 7-5 6-2.
