Australia's Thanasi Kokkinakis has knocked off world No.15 Diego Schwartzman, advancing to the round of 32 at the Miami Open in the process.

The 25-year-old has been at his best in doubles tennis recently alongside close mate Nick Kyrgios, but still has plenty to offer in singles judging off this latest performance.

Kokkinakis lost the first set to Schwartzman, but fought back valiantly to claim a 4-6 7-6 6-4 victory in Miami - surviving a tense match-point situation.

Kokkinakis also revealed on social media following the win that he was forced to take a drug test, which usually occurs following a tournament.

The world No.97 will now take on Sebastian Korda in the next round - the same man who eliminated him at Indian Wells.

Elsewhere in Miami, Kyrgios caused a major upset against Andrey Rublev, taking out a two-set win.
